Welcome to February and with February brings one of my favorite holidays, Valentines Day. I’ve pulled together a few things that may give you and your sweetheart a different percepective of Valentines day.

Here are a few things to think, whether you’re a seller or a buyer, during this holiday season.
If you’re like me, I’m still wondering where did the summer go? It seems like it was just the fourth of July and we were doing some late spring cleaning. If you’re wondering when the Autumn Equinox is it is September 23rd at 4:21 a.m. ET. (Yes fall is around the corner)
Many of you may be doing your fall cleanup: putting away your hoses, blowing out the sprinkler system, and getting your planting beds and lawns ready for winter. In your Fall home owner ToDo list, you may find you have some left over items from your spring efforts, such as oil based paint, herbicides, fertilizers and anti freeze, etc. If wondering how you dispose of these items, check your local city and county web sites to see when they collect these items.
The City of Littleton is having their yearly Household HazMat Round Up on September 12th and September 19th between 8:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m. The collection center is located at the Englewood Service Center, 2800 S. Platte River Drive (on the east side of the South Platte River). The event is open to Littleton and Englewood residence and there is a $20.00 co-pay. Residency will be verified at the event.

Jefferson County – Open to residents of unincorporated Jefferson County and the cities/towns of Arvada, Edgewater, Golden, Lakeside, Lakewood, Morrison, Mountain View and Wheat Ridge

Welcome to the Month of June, it is hard to believe that next week will be the 4th of July. Here is Denver we are trying to stay dry, with all the rain and dodging hail storms. The Real Estate market is also keeping us jumping, with a low number of homes for sale compared to the rest of the country. Here are a few highlights.
- We saw a slight increase of active homes in May to 5,157
- Inventory is up by 13.7% over April
- Under Contracts up 4.4% from a month ago
- Sold properties up 10.3% last month
- Homes priced $200,000 – $399,999 are moving the fastest with 75% of homes on the market going under contract in 7 days or less
- Homes priced between $400,000 – $599,999, 52% go under contract in 7 days or less
- Homes between $600,000 – $799,999, 38% go under contract in 7 days or less
- Homes $800,000 – $999,999, 36% go under contract in 7 days or less.
- 1M – 3M, 19% go under contract within 7 days or less.
- Average Sold price is up to $419,465 for detached single family homes.
- Average Sold price for Attached homes is up to $261,886.
These number reflect the 7 Metro Counties which include: Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Elbert and Jefferson Counties.

No matter what the weather says here in Denver, the calendars says it time for the Farmer’s Markets to open. Some of them open this month (May) and others open in June. You can find pretty much a farmer’s market any days of the week in various places in the state.
